My Greatest wine memory was trying a 1959 Lafite. I'd love to share that experience with every one, but at $4000 / bottle it's just unreachable. On the other hand then 1982 Château Léoville Poyferré rivals this experience. This will be an evening you will never forget.

It wasn't until I tried some great white Burgundy that I ever thought I liked Chardonnay. Once I had a great white burgundy at Becky Wasserman's I was hooked. I went from an almost red only guy to and hunter of great chardonnay. But can American Chardonnay rival Burgundy. Come try a great aged Puligny Montrachet compared to some of the greatest California Chardonnays.

Some of my favorite French wines are basically unknown such as Minervois wine. These wines are rustic and powerful but gain finesse with age. Minervois is the region of Minerve a town where the mystical Cathars, akin to the Knights Templare were killed in a stunning small town of Minerve.
